dir. Gurinder Chadha. Jess (Parminder Nagra), is the youngest daughter of a conservative Sikh family who defies per parents wishes to pursues her love of football, making friends with footballer Jess (Keira Knightley). Delightful feel good dramatic comedy. The two young leads are brilliant, forming a touching and believable friendship very quickly. The supporting cast is great, especially seeing Archie Panjabi as the older sister getting married, Panjabi is perhaps best known now as the mysterious privater investigator Kalinda in ‘The Good Wife’ TV series. The best kind of sentimental film, I don’t mind being emotionally manipulated like this, when the cast is so delightful. Fantastic mix of Bollywood style songs and 1990s British pop music. I love the bloopers and singing over the credits, it just makes you smile.
