dir. Mike Flanagan. Mediocre TV miniseries forced into a overlong tedious film. More violent than thrilling. Closer to STRANGER THINGS (Season 3, 2019) than THE SHINING (1980). Attempts at cinematic flourishes fall flat. Dull. Tries so hard to tap into something emotional and human, but is essentially more interested in the boring mechanics of “Shining”.
