dir. Cathy Yan. Picked this over 1917 (2019) to watch today, and so happy with the choice. I haven’t had as much fun in a cinema in months. Margot Robbie is so much fun on screen, and is genuinely funny as well as believable violent sociopath. Loved hearing the Spiderbait song during the police station fight. The GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES (1953) homage segment was delightful, and could have gone on much longer. Ewan McGregor is hilarious, and appropriately deranged. This is the exact kind of big budget movie I love, amazing soundtrack, big stunts (motorbike scene was great), and a real charismatic movie star chewing the scenery. And how many “comic book movies” have unreliable narrators, and non-linear storytelling?
